Loon Lake Centennial Park

This native and low-water-use plant park at the north end of the lake in the town of Loon Lake, was created on one-tenth of an acre donated to Loon Lake Land Conservancy in 2009 by Jim Qualls and his sister Claudia Eliasen with the understanding that it remain a public space and commemorate the history of the original Loon Lake Community.

Some of the original families – The Qualls, Evan Morgan, Neil McDermut, Walter & Betty Davis, Bill and Jan Shawl – are commemorated in this park through the Loon Lake Historical Society housed in the Old Schoolhouse, one block north on Colville Rd.

Initial funding for the Park was granted by Inland Northwest Community Foundation. Loon Lake Centennial Park was designed by landscape designer, Dede McAuliffe. Construction work was done by LLLC volunteers.
