The LLLC acquired a conservation easement on a one-half acre piece of wetland at the south end of the lake in 2008. Located on the west side of the railroad tracks and just south of the Larson Beach Road Bridge over the tracks, this wetland is part of the 11-acre Little Loon Lake wetland, a major part of the remaining wetlands which serve the lake. The LLLC conservation easement protects in perpetuity the overflow system from Little Loon Lake that directs water through a culvert system, emptying into the lake during high water.
